CIC is delighted to sponsor the forthcoming visit of Dr. Louise Limberg, Senior Professor of Library and Information Science (LIS), at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science, University of Borås, Sweden and senior advisor of The Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS), a national centre of excellence funded by The Swedish Research Council. In this seminar, Louise will share with us insights gleaned from 25 years of research on information seeking and learning. Specialising in information seeking and use, her research has demonstrated Information literacy is a critical feature of learning via digital tools and information sources.

Louise has an extensive corpus of research to draw on in this seminar, including a series of studies exploring how students interact with information systems and sources as well as with fellow students and adults throughout the learning process. Other studies have focused on the educators’ (teachers and librarians) perspectives of the same theme of interaction between teaching, learning and information seeking practices in school environments.
